My story in a nutshell is my daughter was born 6 weeks premature, she was in NICU for 2 weeks but she developed oral aversions due to being intubated.
I tried to breastfeed but she would scream if anything touched her mouth so I started pumping for her.
She wouldn’t latch on me or a bottle at all and was fed with a 3ml syringe for 5 months, she was a very poor feeder and was in and out of hospital 18 times for dehydration and poor feeding before she was even 6 months.
At 31.5 months she still weighs 10,5kg and still goes days without eating, but I’m confident in the fact that she gets everything she needs from me pumping for her.
She has never latched, despite me trying every day for the first 18 months, I worked with occupational therapists, dieticians / IBCLC’s, speech therapists and lactation consultants but no one was ever able to help me get her to latch.
Thanks for reading my little story, I mainly wanted to share it with you to show you that long term or full term EPing is totally possible and just as beautiful as full term nursing :)

That is amazing! my daughter will be 9months and only pump she stopped nursing at 2months. I did five with supply until last couple months I have donors still pump and still end up having to use formula also invested in meds to help production which helped I went from barely getting two once in a day to producing her two to three bottle of four ounces a day just hasn't got up to enough where I don't have to use formula anymore. If I didn't have production problems I would pump past a year.congrats that you can!
You are doing such a great job for your little girl! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your story.
What a beautiful story. :,)
This is great! I EP'd for 12 months with my first son 4 years ago. I could find very little on the subject. Many people (including one La Leache League leader) told me I could not do it but that was all I needed to motivate me. I was able to nurse my second one and my bond with both boys is equally strong! You will be an inspiration to many Moms!
So uplifting. My son had trouble latching, so i am going on 6 months eping. Feels great knowing i am sustaing his precious little life:) how often do you pump and what have you found that keeps and abundant supply i would like to continue this as long as i can!!
Wow. What an amazing story. Thank you for being strong and persevering with and for her. Proud of you!
